40 Days Alchemy of Tranquility Annual Retreat 2025:
“seyr va soluk: The Journey”
**This course meets the qualifications for 7 hours of continuing education credit for
LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and/or LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
Course Dates:
Friday evening, January 24th until Sunday afternoon, January 68th, 2025

What You Will Learn
- An overview of a model of human development and spiritual transformation based on the teachings of tasawouf (Sufism) and their significance for the practice of psychotherapy.
- An understanding of the spiritual journey in Sufism and how it is relevant for clients’ growth.
- How the therapist’s journey of transformation mirrors the client’s through implicit resonant effects.
- Practices based on the teachings of tasawouf (Sufsim) for awareness, self-care, purification, and presence as means of self-transformation.

CE Learning Objectives
As a result of attending this retreat participants will be able to:
- demonstrate at least two breath or movement practices that support the transformative process known as seyr va soluk in Sufism.
- describe how awareness can be cultivated through attention to one’s physical form through the lens of the transformative process known as seyr va soluk in Sufism.
- describe how attention to “here and now” experience can be the starting point for the transformative process known as seyr va soluk in Sufism.
- name at least three key principles of heart-based practice for healing to support the transformative process known as seyr va soluk in Sufism.
- describe the role of the therapist in challenging obstacles to direct experience of the transformative process known as seyr va soluk in Sufism.
