Kervan Ensemble

Kervan Ensemble is a Bay Area ensemble that performs traditional Turkish music ranging from soulful Sufi suites and Ottoman classical pieces to lively dance and folk songs. The ensemble is directed by Haluk Kecelioglu on Ud and Vocals. Haluk has performed Turkish music professionally for over ten years and has studied privately with Master Turkish musicians Necati Celik and Halil Karaduman. He is also currently the director of Radio Istanbul, a Turkish urban-folk dance music group that has played at many notable Bay Area venues, such as Yoshi’s in San Francisco. The ensemble also features Hank Levin, also a student of Necati Celik, accompanying on the Ney (Turkish reed flute).
