“The Science of Harmonized Waves” by Victor Sinow
Winter 2025 Column
Bismillah ar-Rahman ar-Rahim
Happy joyous New Year to all! In this edition of the Insight “Science and Spirituality” column, let us begin with a teaching from Dr. Nahid Angha, Sufi Master and scholar, regarding the energetic makeup of the human body:
Human energies are a storage of electromagnetic powers that when concentrated develop an electromagnetic system that is hādi (transmitter) to all the known waves. No harmonized wave is hindered in passing through this system. With such an extreme power, is there any knowledge found in our universe that does not pass through this system?
This conception of the human being as an electromagnetic system deserves further study and elaboration. Most notably, there exists the question: how is it that we can function as a transmitter and receiver of the harmonized energies of the universe? The corresponding answer requires a careful understanding of the principles of operation of an antenna.
Fundamentally, antenna are objects specifically constructed to interact with electromagnetic waves of a given frequency. Electromagnetic waves themselves are just periodic oscillations of electric and magnetic fields that carry energy away from their origin and can impart that energy to matter with which they interact. When a wave interacts with an antenna, the field oscillations of the wave induce the movement of charged particles in the antenna at the same frequency as the incident wave. Whether or not the energy carried by the wave can be properly received and amplified by the antenna system depends completely on the tuning of the antenna itself. Precise calibration of the physical properties of the antenna are required before harmonization and resonance with the desired wave can be achieved.
In a very real sense, the human body, and especially the magnetic centers within the body, interact with the field oscillations of electromagnetic waves just like an antenna does. And like an antenna, resonance with those waves is wholly dependent on the precise makeup of the body’s energetic system. Concentration of energy within the heart center of the body, as Dr. Nahid Angha writes in her commentary on Hazrat Shah Maghsoud Angha’s book, Manifestations of Thought, is the focal point of tuning the body system to harmonize and resonate with the knowledge of the universe:
When an individual learns to collect and concentrate one’s electro and magnetic energies in a point of reference (in Sufism that point of reference is the heart), one will create an atmosphere or environment of electro and magnetic energies that is open to harmonious waves only. Thus realization, discovery, inspiration and revelation are the results of human being’s collection, concentration, and focus of energies in a point of reference.
This process of focus and tuning of one’s own system is the act of meditation, both at a fixed daily interval and in every moment of one’s awareness. Such dedicated practice is the prescription for transformation in the Sufi lineage of Hazrat Shah Maghsoud Angha. Through meditation, a seeker on the spiritual path can change his or her own energetic makeup, and in so doing, create within him or herself a suitable receiver for the light of the Divine.
As taught by Sufi Master Shah Nazar Seyed Ali Kianfar, all movement and evolution in physical reality is at its core an expression of divinity and a reflection of the Divine light – the light of Ar Rahman. It is therefore due to Allah’s utmost Mercy that by carefully calibrating and tuning the antenna of the body, human beings have the capacity to receive the light of knowledge, experience the truth of universal connection, and transmit divine illumination back into world.
