Those who undertake the practice of forty days move daily, step-by-step, from the lowest stages of the self to the highest state of experiencing the unity of being. Psychologically, when you set yourself for a forty day practice, the meaning and value of each day becomes enhanced; the closer you come to the end of the cycle, the more concentrated your energy becomes. The result of this practice is embracing peace and tranquility and is known as the Alchemy of Tranquility. In the Sufi tradition, "chelleh" (40 days) is a private course of instruction for a "salek" (Sufi practitioner) who is ready to undergo purification and meditation to become united with the Divine and to achieve Divine qualities. As the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) said: "Wisdom will flow from the heart to the tongue for those who purify God during forty days," indicating that such a person will be purified of all that is not Divine during this process. The Qur'an also gives highly detailed and very specific guidance to those seeking purification. Chelleh has always been and remains highly individualized, very private, and held under the guidance of a truly wise, knowledgeable, and experienced Sufi master. Visionary Leadership from the Workshop Director
His Holiness, Shah Nazar Ali Kianfar, a world-renowned Sufi master who has been teaching spiritual practices and techniques for over thirty years, directs and guides the entire program. The practical spiritual techniques he uses in each session are based on the ancient wisdom of the prophets and have been used by spiritual masters throughout the ages. His experience and wisdom guide the whole program. This is the first time in history that the introduction to and preparation for chelleh has been offered publicly, Shah Nazar Ali Kianfar was directed to do, although the practice itself remains individualized and private and is available only to those who qualify themselves. It is also the first time that this highly spiritual practice of purification has been combined with psychological training, for Dr. Kianfar recognizes that many of us carry psychological wounds that first must be healed before we can progress on our spiritual journey.
Developed by Shah Nazar Dr. Ali Kianfar with a team of psychotherapists, researchers, and university professors who have been working under his guidance for many years, this program helps one learn the techniques of ancient wisdom that lead to confidence and stability.
