Songs of the Soul Poetry Contest

The International Association of Sufism is introducing: Songs of the Soul Poetry Contest

This year’s theme:  The Natural Rhythm of Wisdom.

Poets and Mystics, through the ages, have served as instruments and voices of a sacred and natural wisdom that moves through the world. The rhythm and words that flow onto the page and dance into the ears of other human beings, when aligned with this wisdom have often soothed and enlightened the souls of our ever emerging humanity.

In the tradition of the great Sufi poets Rumi and Hafiz, we are inviting the mystics and poets of our time to come and share and give voice to this unfolding wisdom.

submissions will be reviewed starting December 1, 2011, and must be postmarked no later than January 31, 2012

The International Association of Sufism, a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization of the United Nations, is pleased to announce the Songs of the Soul Poetry Contest to be held March, 2012 in San Rafael, California. We are calling for submissions of your unpublished works of poetry for consideration and entry into the first annual Songs of the Soul Poetry Contest. Songs of the Soul honors poets both published and unpublished for their awakening work that focuses on the meaning behind the word, elevates and transports and speaks with the heart-beating spark of life. Please join us in celebrating this unique and expressive art form.

The winners from each category will be announced, presented with a Songs of the Soul poetry award and given formal stage time to present their award-winning poetry. In addition, the winners will be invited to gather with celebrated international poets in attendance.

Join in, bring to life and rejuvenate your poetic style and reflection. For poetry submission guidelines, further information or questions please visit: www.ias.org or call 415-472-6959. We look forward to receiving your poetry submissions.

Regards,

Songs of the Soul Poetry Contest
