Navah
Based
in the Seattle Area of Washington state, members of Navah
are all salekin (students) of the Sufi Masters Shah
Nazar Seyed Dr. Ali Kianfar and Seyedeh
Dr. Nahid Angha who lead chant groups in various
Sufi and Interfaith services.

As
participants in the Thanksgiving Interfaith Service at Saint
Marks Cathedral, Seattle, in November 2001, members Navah
lead over 700 people from different faiths and traditions
in a Sufi chant called "Forty Days." The performance
clearly moved the audience, who appeared receptive to the
Divine chants.

Taneen
Based
in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, members of
Taneen are all salekin (students) of the Sufi Masters Shah
Nazar Seyed Dr. Ali Kianfar and Seyedeh
Dr. Nahid Angha. With
an authentic fusion of Persian and Western influences, Taneen
creates original melodies, although their music is deeply
rooted in the Sufi tradition in its intention and inspiration.
They primarily sing the ecstatic poetry
of the great masters (such as Jalaleddin Rumi, Hafiz, Omar
Khayam and Shah Maghsoud) translated into English by Seyedeh
Dr. Nahid Angha, making the profound message
of love which the Sufis profess very accessible to all audiences.

Members
of Taneen include (from Left to Right): Anthony, Sheikh
Salman, Salima, Salim, Soraya, and Jeff. Taneen has performed
before international and national audiences at such events
as the Sufism
Symposium, the celebration of the UN's
50th Anniversary, Monterey's World Music Festival,
Seattle's Mystical
Chant Day, and at many interfaith celebrations.
